7th of July, meeting with farmers
The day started somewhere around 10am. Wayne and Lori were both away and we ate breakfast while watching some Beavis&Butt-head. We couldn't do anything, because Wayne wasn't home and he had the whole plan in his head plus we needed more materials. At 12am, Lori came home, but half an hour later, she went to the store in Appleton, to buy the needed materials. When she was home again at around 3pm, Wayne called her, saying he was called by the fire agency. There was a fire at an old barn, and because Wayne is a volunteer fireman, he had to go there. This meant we had to wait longer until we could start things off. When he came home at 4pm, we started spraying and scrubbing the deck. This was needed, because it had rained the day before. At 6pm, we stopped and took a shower, because Wayne had a meeting at 7pm. The meeting took place in an insurance building in Waupaca. We ate dinner there and enjoyed the Wi-fi. Finally, at 9:30 we went home again.
8th of July, DIY day
At 8am, the alarm woke us up. It meant it was time for yet another beautiful day. We ate some waffles and immediately after that we started continuing spraying and scrubbing the deck and rinsing it. This took us a couple of hours, but it was worth it. After lunch Wayne brought some more sand so we could finish off leveling the sidewalk, because at 3pm the cement truck would arrive. We were finished on time, however, Wayne got called that the cement truck would come an hour later. When the truck finally arrived, the concrete was poured slowly onto the sidewalk. We had to spread it out by using a board and some shovels. It already started to look pretty good. When every spot was filled, the only task left was to make it perfectly leveled. This was done by Wayne, so we couldn't do much more than roasting marshmallows above the campfire. This was the end of a busy day.
