3th of July, the trip to USA
At 5 o'clock we drove towards Dusseldorf Airport. At 9:30 we departed from Dusseldorf to Atlanta, the flight took nine hours. When we arrived in Atlanta, we heard there was a delay of an hour, so we had to wait a while until we could fly to Chicago. Arrived in Chicago, Wayne and Lori picked us up from the airport and we drove to Clintonville, where a fireworks show took place. It was amazing to see. Half sleeping we sat in the car for half an hour when we finally arrived at our final destination, Patri Rd, Manawa.
4th of July, Independance Day.
We started the day at 8:30, a little tired because of the long trip we made. We ate some pancakes and while finishing the last piece, we jumped in the car and drove(actually Wayne drove) to the town of Manawa, where a huge parade would take place. We sat down the road and waited for around an hour, when finally the start of the parade came past us. It's a little different than in Holland, because lots of candy is thrown on the streets. That's why the kids where very enthousiastic. When the parade was finished after an hour, we drove back to the house of the Steingrabers, where a party was held for some family members of Wayne and Lori. Everyone took some food with them and Lori also prepared a lot of food. We also played together with Ezra, Ethan and Serenity, which are their grandchildren. Around 5pm, everyone was gone. We watched a movie of James Bond, called Thunderball. After that, we ate dinner with Wayne and Lori and chilled in our room for the rest of the evening.
